Each year people die or are seriously injured as a result of fires at work. Besides loss of life, fire costs UK business millions of pounds from damage to property, loss of business, fines, compensation claims and insurance premiums. Is your business at risk?
The new Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRO), is due to be enforced from October 2006. Under the Reforms, Fire Certificates will be repealed. The RRO places responsibility on the Responsible Person and outlines all that must be taken to ensure the safety of all the people they are directly or indirectly responsible for. This means that if you are the Responsible Person in your building, you have a duty of care to understand the potential risk of fire within the Workplace, to take preventative measures and to train and instruct your employees on how to deal with those risks.
Most fires at work are caused by people who are not alert to fire hazards, or are careless with fire hazards. Carrying out a risk assessment is not only a legal obligation, but it can minimise your exposure to the possibility of fire in your business.
Russellfire offer a full risk assessment service to enable you to comply with the regulations without taking valuable time out of your business. Our service includes a full survey of your building to identify any potential fire risk and a written record of identified hazards and the precautions to take against them. We look at:
